Jamie Bahr rolls out some sultry Jazz tomorrow!
Other than being one of the most beautiful women in Austin and a darling of the punkabilly scene, my wife is also an amazing Jazz/Blues vocalist. While she is best known as the frontwoman of Danger*Cakes, tomorrow she will flying solo for a good cause. You should come out and see her.

Fan art contest!
Hey there! Hi there! Ho there! We're happy to announce that we're teaming up with Holly's Horrorland for the first of many contests this year. This one is a fan art contest. The rules are simple. Grab a pencil and paper! We want to see your depictions of Solomon and Lucy.
So basically draw a groovy picture, win a comic book! Got it? Good! Have at it.
The winner gets a paperback copy of HM SUPERDEFORMED
(pictured above) and the runner-up gets a PDF of it.
Deadline for submissions is March 31st.

Post-Staple thoughts.
So, Staple 2014 is behind us and it was a good one. It's always nice to meet fans face to face, but also make new fans. One thing I really love is seeing things fans make. Take this for example.
This Halloween Man snare drum is the creation of AllSwitchedUp and is apparently part of a full-kit. I'd love to see the whole thing at some point.
While we're on the subject of Staple, I have to give a shout out to Mike Furth. A former comic book inker turned film maker is currently putting together an ambitious documentary about indie comics. He bravely followed me around for the weekend, getting behind the scenes footage of the Halloween Man machine. While the movie is still in production, he does have a trailer. Check it out at this link.
